So, why do I have this blog? Why do I take the time to manage and post on it? I have plenty of worthwhile reasons, because I desire to:
- glorify God and draw you closer to Jesus
- draw smiles and laughter to your face and encourage you
- share my daily life, adventures, funny stories, and pictures
- tell what God is doing in my life and the world
- go against the flow
- let you know about events, movies, books, etc.
To let you know what I have here thus far, see the tabs at the top titled “About”, “I like”, “Life in photos”, “Ministry”, “The story”, and “Why”. If you have a movie, book, event, etc., to recommend, please feel free to comment and tell me about it. I will definitely look into it and perhaps post on it or add it to my collection if I deem it worthy.
You may be wondering about my blog name. Well, one time I saw the movie “Anne of Green Gables”. As I watched it, I had this funny feeling that Anne and I would’ve gotten along really well:
While she smashes a slate over a boy’s head, I get into a little fight as a 7 year old and proceed to stick out my tongue and furiously pinch the boy’s arm. While she stops Miss Stacy from eating the pudding, I put a few tablespoons instead of teaspoons in the pancakes and ruin the whole batch (who wants to eat pancakes that taste like baking powder?). While she dyes her hair green, I dye my hair gray (for a mystery party – don’t worry, it came out since then). While she chases after cows and falls in the mud, I chase after pigs that escaped and tumble into the mud. While Anne falls into a well and hurts her ankle, I jump into the lake and pull a leg muscle. While she is forced to sit next to Gilbert in school, I almost sit on a live scorpion.
Whenever my sister hears of my adventures, she chuckles and says something like, “Oh, that’s Definitely Joanna”. Thus, the name.
